A simple care routine helps you enjoy pearl jewellery for longer. Treat the pearl, its setting and its chain as one piece: a cleaning method suitable for metal alone may not suit a pearl or the way it is mounted.
After each wear
Gently wipe the jewellery with a soft, clean cloth and put it away separately from harder items. Keep perfume, hairspray, household cleaners and heat away from pearls. Do not use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. GIA's pearl care guidance explains why pearls need gentle handling.
A routine for Lune Aure pieces
Apply skincare and perfume before putting jewellery on. Remove pearl pieces before swimming, showering, exercising or sleeping, following the care instructions on the individual product page. When taking off a necklace, open the clasp rather than pulling it over your head. Take rings off before tasks where they may knock against a hard surface.
Store each piece in its own compartment, pouch or presentation box so chains do not tangle around other jewellery. When packing for travel, lay the necklace out first and check that the pendant is not trapped beneath another item.
Check before you clean
Look at the clasp, joins and setting. If a pearl feels loose or a fitting looks bent, stop wearing the piece and ask us for advice. Avoid trying to repair it with household glue or tools. For dirt that does not come away with a gentle wipe, contact us about the specific design before using a cleaning solution.
Adjustable jewellery needs a gentle touch
Make small adjustments within the range listed on the product page. Repeated bending is not a useful way to change a ring between several sizes. If the fit feels wrong, ask for guidance before forcing the band.
